The video images in Drilling were shot by John Armstrong on a cold November afternoon in 2002.  Vince Sanregret played driver as John shot footage of the numerous oil derricks in the vicinity of South Cooking Lake, Alberta.
The still images were taken by Tom Roschkov in the foothills of Alberta, on a weekend in October 2002 when the Stone Merchants were performing at Castaways in Edson.  John and Tom enhanced the images..
The music for Drilling was taken from a piece called Heaving, which may be found on the Ancestors first self-titled recording.  The song was recorded live in Kelly Pikula's basement sometime in late-1997.  Tom was singing through a 2 litre plastic bottle.
